Never a dull moment

That's a picture of me singing someone's back/ass. Why?

It all started when I met up with friends at Vintage and they broke out the karaoke machine. I don't know why but Asians LOVE karaoke. And trust me, I do not have to be drunk to get up there and sing...even though I was, but that's besides the point. So I sang the song I ALWAYS sing, "I Touch Myself", and delivered a phenomenal performance per usual. I had the crowd singing along and cheering and "I felt like I was famous" (inside joke with EAM). After I performed, the guy whose back is pictured above came up to me and sang my praises and asked for my autograph. So I pulled out my pen and he lifted up his shirt and that's how that situation happened. I think we flirted for a few minutes before I disappeared into the night, and I may or may not have given him my number. Honestly I completely forgot that it happened until I saw the picture. Oh me. But anyway, if you recognize this person's back, be sure to tell him I say hello.

International Festival 2009

Today, a few friends and I attended the Houston International Festival in Downtown Houston in honor of Ireland!

This was the first iFest I've been to so I wasn't sure what to expect exactly. My thought process: Ireland = beer = haggas = leprachauns = St. Pat' round two. Well there was all of that and MORE! As it did focus on Ireland what with the mini-tranned out river dancers and replicated Mucky Duck outside of City Hall, there was American, Chinese, African, and Greek culture to be experienced by all. Plus...
turkey legs

pizza & hot dog hats

and beef sundaes.

Fucking beef sundaes dude.

What the shit does a beef sundae look like you ask?

Like that. Pot roast. Mashed potatoes. Cheese. Gravy. More mashed potatoes. Toast. And a fucking cherry tomato on top.

This is the equivalent to ambrosia in Mighty Meaty Carnivore Heaven.

I only got this far as I had a frito pie earlier and almost puked all over Chrissie and Bobby as I was trying to wolf this monster down. guhghghghughg.

I'd write something clever and weird to conclude this post but I have to light a match after writing about my misadventures in carnival food. Goodbyyyeeee!!!!

Because I don't have a child.

Today Holly and I enjoyed this spectacular day at two parks in the Downtown Houston area. The first was at Discovery Green.

In front of the George R. Brown Convention Center:

Inside the dog run:

We still had about thirty minutes left to park, but there's only so much to see in a two-hour span at DG. This is the last snap shot before walking back to the car:
Afterwards, we went to Eleanor Tinsley Park located on Allen Parkway.

There weren't a lot of dogs at the regular dog park area, so we just walked to the fountain (which was off, wtf?) and then back to the car.

(FYI, the building I'm standing next to is where I'll start working on Monday! Woo!)

Snow Blog

Want to really impress a girl? Take her to T'afia and make sure it's snowing outside.

There's really no way to one-up that. Okay, yeah, I would still love to go on a cross-country dream date, but at the moment I don't have time for it so I'll settle for good conversation under candlelight and snowfall.

When I got home I took Holly out to play in the snow. I don't think she really appreciated it as much as other Houstonians. She went about her business as if she's seen it all before.

Here are a few pictures I took on my street:

Here are a couple photographer Patrick Bertolino took:

By the time I left for work this morning, all evidence of snow had melted away along with my aversion to snow itself. I enjoyed snow my freshman year of college, but two years later of having to drive through that crap I got over it pretty quickly.

Hope you all had as good of a night as I did! See you this weekend ;)
